The sun comes up, and more than 1,000 people go to work on 3 continents.  Over at Quantum, the 6:00 AM investment meeting wraps up as the markets open in New York. 22 banking offices in California get coffee brewing and prepare to welcome their customers. On Market Street, a Seligman Western property manager finalizes a lease on 10,000 square feet for a growing law firm – they will do the final walk-through this afternoon. A worried parent in Shanghai wires tuition funds to the branch manager in Cupertino for their daughter, a sophomore at Stanford.

A plane lands at Le Bourget, Paris, under the watchful eye of the Presidential Ft. Lauderdale air station dispatch center. A municipal pension fund in the Midwest is delighted as they receive their quarterly results from their Quantum Capital relationship manager. A shopkeeper in Kona unlocks his store, preparing for the day’s rush of customers.

Sterling Bank loan officers take 15 loan applications in San Francisco and Los Angeles, mostly from young couples purchasing their first homes. In Los Angeles, at the Langham Apartments, maintenance crews put the finishing touches on the bright and sunny apartment, before new tenants move in. In Orange County, a small parts' distributor tours the space next door as he considers expanding his operation.

The day turns to night. Bank officers and their spouses dress for a black tie charitable event. One of their own is being honored for community service. A small army of cleaners fan out and alert security. Officers take to their stations on 4,000,000 square feet of property.

The Sterling Bank operations' center posts the day’s transactions for 15,000 customers. There is a shift change at Ft. Lauderdale’s air station over steaming cups of coffee. Tomorrow, 24 departures in 10 time zones from Europe, Africa, Asia, and the continental US are reviewed.

A nervous co-ed in Hollywood asks security to walk her from the car to her building.  The analysts at Quantum check the overnight markets in Tokyo one last time before turning in. The cleaning crew on California Street notices that the startup in Suite 650 is still working. They will clean that office last. In Southfield, Michigan, 5 bank postings don’t look quite right. Branch Ops is notified to contact customers first thing in the morning.

As day breaks, a real estate group junior analyst wakes up and reviews his property purchase recommendation.  It’s his first presentation and he wants it to be perfect. At the air station, overnight mechanics head home after performing a routine check of “their” birds.  Donna Sherman sends out the “Quote of the Day” to the 1,000 plus associates, along with the day’s birthdays.

Another day begins and 1,000 plus associates are connected by fierce pride to serve their customers and community, to mutually respect each other, and to practice commerce as art.
